Western Produce was located near the railway crossing at Cherry Street.
David Thompson came here from Newstead about 1919 to manage
Keast's Mill (located along the Cherry Street Railway crossing on the Werribee Station side).
A few years later
Keast's Mill burnt down and Thompson bought
Ison's Mill.
Thompson conducted this business until early 1980 when it was taken over by Max Hayes. Once it was pulled down it became a Woolworths supermarket.
Thompson also purchased the hardware business of F.H. Oldis located opposite on Cherry Street, Werribee. This was later owned by Tom Powell who conducted it for many years.
Today it is a Bunnings store.
