No.2147  George Bunting Crilley
War Service
George Bunting Crilley enlisted on 8 May 1916 and, after initial training, embarked on HMAT Orsova on 1 August 1916 for England. We was an engineer in the 59th Battalion.  He disembarked in Plymouth on 14 September 1916.  From there he was deployed to France, arriving in Etaples on 16 December 1916.

Over the following year, George was admitted to hospital numerous times due to psoriasis (skin disease) and severe otitis media (middle ear infection).

George returned to Australia on 11 January 1918 and was discharged, medically unfit due to otitis media, on 8 April 1918.
